About Us
About CFUW
CFUW/FCFDU is a voluntary, non-profit, self-funded,
non-partisan, non-governmental organization of close to 10,000
graduate women, students and Associate Members in 112 Clubs in
Canada who advocate for equality for women and girls. CFUW seeks to
improve access to education for women, for peace, justice, human
rights and to support programs that improve the environment. CFUW
has special consultative status with the United Nations. CFUW
serves on the Sectoral Committee on Education of the Canadian
Sub-Commission to UNESCO. CFUW is the largest affiliate of the 79
member International Federation of University Women (IFUW) see

National Activities - CFUW:
- Informs the Government of Canada about CFUW/FCFDU policies
- Acts in solidarity with other national non-Government women's
equality-seeking and feminist organizations
- Provides members with opportunities to network at local,
regional, provincial, national and international meetings
- Supports the A. Vibert Douglas International Fellowship
- Manages the CFUW Fellowships and Awards program which is
supported by the CFUW/FCFDU Charitable
Trust
Local Activities
The local Clubs of CFUW/FCFDU provide:
- Opportunities for friendship and support
- Meetings on educational, political, social and cultural issues
with an emphasis on equality for women and girls
- Interest and study groups on a wide range of topics
- The opportunity to develop, research and present resolutions
for consideration at the CFUW/FCFDU Annual General Meeting
- The opportunity to advocate locally about CFUW policies through
contact with MPs, MNAs; MLAs; MPPs
- Work in concert with other local equality-seeking organizations
with shared objectives
