CFUW Submits a Brief on Bill C-71
June 5, 2018 – In its brief to the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security CFUW asks that strong provisions to reduce the risks of firearms being used inappropriately be included in Bill C-71. The proposed Bill reintroduces important provisions to ensure the safety of all Canadians. However, additional provisions related to screening and licensing, tracking and control of sales, control and transport of restricted weapons and to end the possession of assault weapons are needed to respond adequately to key public safety concerns.
