CFUW members are
reminded that the nominations are open for all CFUW board positions (excluding CFUW President),
Committee Chairs and Regional Directors as named in the March 2011
Constitution and By-Laws which can be found here. The President
has already been elected.
By-law VI Board of Directors
2.1 The Board of
Directors consists of eleven (11) members: the President, the Vice
President of Communications/Corporate Secretary, the Vice President of
Finance, the Vice President of Membership, the Vice President of
Advocacy, the Coordinator for International Relations and five (5)
Regional Vice Presidents: one (1) from each of British Columbia, the
Prairies, Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic.
The duties of the Board of Directors are contained in Standing Rule B.1 and following.
The committees to be elected are:

The twelve (12)
Standing Committees of CFUW shall be: Education, Fellowships, Finance,
Governance, International Relations, Libraries and Creative Arts,
Membership, Public Affairs, Regional Directors Development/Training,
Resolutions, Strategic Planning, and Status of Women and Human Rights.
The duties of these committees are described in standing rule D.1and following.
By-law X. Regional Directors:
1.The nineteen
(19) Regional Directors shall be: one (1) from each of the provinces of
Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island,
Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador; two (2) from the province of
Quebec; four (4) from the province of British Columbia; and six (6)
from the province of Ontario. Clubs in Yukon, Northwest Territories and
Nunavut may be assigned to the appropriate Regional Director by the
Board of Directors.
A job description has been prepared by the Regional directors and is found in Appendix A.
The nominations
form found on this page is used for all these positions and should be
forwarded to the nominations chair before February 15. Clubs must
nominate a candidate and sign the nomination form before submitting it.
Should an election for any of these positions be required, Clubs will be notified as soon as possible after this date.
Any of the members
of the nominations committee would be happy to discuss any of the
positions available as well as the personal satisfaction from serving in
some capacity beyond the local club in the best women's organization in
Canada.
